In Which It's Both An Eve And A Day (It's A Christmas Miracle!)

Season 1, Episode 9
The Man in the Fallout Shelter

This episode. This episode.
One of the best, even to this day.

And we start it with an always fun NON B&B OBSERVATION:
Bones: You really think Goodman is going to let you spike the eggnog after the Fourth of July fiasco?

Every time I watch this episode, I always wonder exactly what was that Fourth of July fiasco. So many hilarious possibilities... (anyone care to think one up?)

Anywho. As a matter of fact, the majority of this episode is filled with non B&B observations, since most of it is about Brennan hating Christmas and learning more about exactly what happened with her parents and showing how that's affected her.

There is their discussion when Booth's stoned from the anti-valley fever drugs, but all that does is further emphasize the fact that he believes in God and she doesn't. Pretty self-explanatory.

The one little thing I do love, though, is when he hesitates before leaving once they get the green light that none of them have the valley fever. He's seen a new side of her, when he walked in on her talking to Angela. The picture of “Bones” has been widened in his mind.

So, he thinks of her.

  1. Totally love this episode - probably the most perfect, most moving Bones episode of all time. I also think it's kind of almost the 'sexiest' in a way between B&B, even though absolutely nothing actually happens... just a thread of connection being firmly established during their late night chat, and the real sense that we can see Booth's 'mind' beginning to open out to her, to fall for her really. Truly beautiful.

  2. LOVE this episode S.F.M.

Everything about it. For all of them.

Zack's huge family? With what happens later? TRAGIC.

Tempe looking on, jealous but refusing to acknowledge it.

    Just...EVERYTHING.
