In Which We Have a Spoilers Post

I want people to be able to talk about spoilers here. I want to respect those who wish to stay spoiler free.
And mostly, I DON'T want to start a whole new blog for spoilers, because then I'll get too tempted to take every spoiler I find and roll with it.

So, we now have the Spoilers Post. Post any new links to spoilers, any new thoughts on spoilers, etc., in the comments of this post. Check back regularly to see new spoilers and new thoughts on spoilers. There will be a link to this post at the top of the blog.

But for this, I wish to steal this warning from bonesspoilers.blogspot.com:
"WARNING: NEVER TAKE SPOILERS SERIOUSLY!!!
Article writers put in their own interpretations, storylines are changed, storylines are protected. Enjoy them, but don't put your trust into them like they're fact."

  1. In response to the spoilers here: http://bonesspoilers.blogspot.com/2011/01/body-in-bag-episode-recap-and-new.html

“…and Booth opens up to Hannah about Brennan’s feelings for him.”

NOTE how it doesn’t say he also opens up about his “previous” feelings for her.

Although, you have to wonder if she inquires about it though. It seems like a logical line of inquiry, to ask if he does or ever did have feelings for her, after he admits that.

THIS SHOW NEEDS TO BE BACK YESTERDAY.

  2. I predict Hannah will be gone either tomorrow, February 10, or February 17, because there is spoilers floating around that B&B will be alone for Valentine's day and will do something that is very THEM. Also, in the interviews about what's coming up in the second half, they've stopped talking about Hannah and started talking about B&B getting together, THANK GOD.

Further supporting evidence is the fact she isn't in the sniper episode (which was supposed to air tomorrow, but is now airing next week instead), and she's not in the polygamy episode either, which is the week after.

Anyways, the silver lining is THE END IS NEAR on B&H. :D

  3. I just had a thought about the upcoming elevator ep. If they are stuck in an elevator, in a blizzard, with no electricity...then they have no heat....except body heat :) right?

I live in the DC area, when we had our blizzard last March and the power died, it got cold inside, FAST! I hope I'm right.

  4. As for Hannah leaving, I think it'll probably later than sooner, but I think it will be within the next month or so.

Hahahaha, if they end up sharing body heat, I'm pretty sure the internet will just implode upon itself. WE CAN HOPE! :D

Looks like B&B are going to the shooting range for V day. I wonder where Hannah is...

  6. Heeheeheeeeeee! Yes! Well, the "B&B willl be together for valentine's day, ALONE" spoiler has been around for awhile, but the fact that they're at a shooting range is PERFECT. I remember part of that same spoiler said something along the lines of "and they'll be doing something that's VERY B&B" :D

  7. I gotta say that I really enjoy reading your blog. I love the show but I really don't have time to re-watch it for nuances such as body language. So it is really nice that you do take that time.

I wanted to speak to the spoilers for episode 13 (Feb. 10) in which Booth may propose to Hannah. I think I don't like it much, obviously. If it does happen, I don't like the implications. Mostly, if Hannah accepts and then the inevitable happens where B&H separate for whatever reason, Booth will be more open to his feelings about Bones again. To me it would seem like Bones is a consolation prize for Hannah at that point and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know I can't wait for Thursday.

I wanted to get some feedback about one issue I've been thinking about in general. That is, what is it about these two characters that draws people in? In my case, I am slightly obsessed with it. When I watched Gilmore Girls, it was the same. When I read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, it was the same. So what do we see in these stories that compels us to write blogs and put off other priorities? Your insight is most welcome.

I am totally squee-ing over this! As one reviewer on FF.net said, "And a happy farewell to Hannah Burley. Safe trip, bon voyage, vaya con Dios, don't let the door hit you in the as s on the way out."

As for your question, DS: The reason I was drawn into Bones was because it was interesting and different. It was also the first bit of TV I'd wanted to see in a while, although I was late to the party (the first episode I saw was The Witch in the Wardrobe). I liked the fact that the characters were well-written, and that they had chemistry with each other. They're also very believable, so you start to want to cheer for them, feel for them, wonder how they're going to react to a new obstacle/triumph. After having seen all the episodes to date (minus the first half of the Body in the Bag, need to have to find time to go rewatch that...), I have faith that, even though the ride has been crazy, it will all work out in the end, and I'm just happy to enjoy the ride.

I am also considered to be slightly obsessed with Bones by my friends and family, because I have seen almost all the episodes, have the end credits from near the beginning of season four to now as my ringtone for my phone, and have all the DVDs and a poster that I received for Christmas. I say that I'm not obsessed yet because I can only tell you an episode name from a basic plot outline and can't quote characters on demand. :P

  9. DS: I'm glad you enjoy it! :) Actually a lot of the time, I only have to watch a scene or two over again, everything else I get from things I jotted down while watching the episode. But with that and writing the post, it's definitely extra time I have to take to do it.

I'd be careful on what you think the implications of it could be. Him proposing does require a certain level of decisiveness, but at the same time, it could also be that he may start to realize his feelings are coming out again, and as a last desperate attempt to pretend that his feelings for Brennan don't exist anymore, he proposes to Hannah, hoping that the joy of Hannah saying "yes" will push his feelings for Brennan back away.

As for your question... well, for me and Booth/Bones, I think it mostly has to do with both the opposites idea and the unlikely idea, in that it's partly because they're the opposites-attract couple, and that has always been an attractor to tv couples for me, and also because since they've had this drawn-out road to them getting together, we get to see them fall in love as friends first and not just as lovers. As for these shows and stories in general... I think a lot of it just has to do with an individual's attachment to the story. A lot of the level of good storytelling itself is what brings people to shows, but what really hooks us is our connection to the story, the idea, etc. Through stories, humans figure out their ideas of themselves, of others, of their worlds. They act as the parameters of what is possible in our world, and stories in a tv series or a book series is particularly engaging because it's one incredibly LARGE story that's being told over a period of time and therefor the telling of the story is more prevalent for a longer amount of time.

I love Angela's line: "Maybe you should find somebody else who's doing nothing, so you two can do nothing together." You can practically hear her thinking, *cough* Brennan *cough* Also, there might be a smidge of, "Finally! Hannah's gone!" in her suggestion.

  11. Oh, yes, knowing what we know of Angela, I wouldn't doubt it. Haha.

  12. Hi Leila and readers, most of you have probably heard this, but - it's just been announced that Emily Deschanel is pregnant! I'm trilled for her, but wondering what it will mean for Bones. Will HH & co write this into the plot? Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I highly doubt they'll rewrite anything. The only way Brennan will be pregnant is if they were already planning it. This happens in TV all the time. Actors get pregnant, and they compensate by putting them in dark and covering clothes, shoot them from the shoulders up, hide their lower bodies behind furniture, etc., and any sign of pregnancy that is seen is just supposed to be ignored through suspension of disbelief.

  15. Hmm... my concern about how it will effect their working together is quelled a bit, not not entirely - in the second article, he said they'll still be solving crimes, but he didn't say "together". We'll see.
